Postpartum Contract

This agreement is between Sacred Openings, LLC (the “Doula”) and the Undersigned below (the “Client”) for the purpose of providing postpartum doula care.

DESCRIPTION OF POSTPARTUM DOULA

A postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby. Services include, but are not limited to, help with self-care recovery, postpartum comfort measures, infant care, parenting information and assistance with learning to feed and take care of your baby, as well as other practical services.

Postpartum doula services for a family last anywhere from a few days, up to a few weeks after bringing home a new baby.

Doulas are not doctors or midwives, and do not practice medicine, nor diagnose and treat postpartum related symptoms. Information presented in our meetings and conversations is not intended as a substitute for the medical advice of a properly licensed health care professional. In addition, doulas do not make specific health claims or promise medical results. We provide education and guidance, and postpartum and breastfeeding support.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Once you have requested me to act as your doula, I will provide the following services:

• I will provide one (1) prenatal meeting, lasting up to 2 hours.

   

• You will receive a digital copy of the Postpartum and Lactation educational packets (physical copies provided upon request and for an additional charge). 

   

• I will provide six (6) postpartum visits, lasting up to 3 hours each, after the birth.

   

• Once Baby is born, I will provide the following services:

   

  • Emotional support and nurturing for the new parent(s)

     

  • Ceremonial bodywork for new birthing parent, i.e. ceremonial foot soaks and/or baths, massage, yoni steams, sitz baths

• • Guidance and assistance with newborn care & caring for newborn while parent(s) take care of themself(ves) (i.e. shower, sleep, eat, work out, etc.)

• • Baby feeding assistance/lactation support (assistance with latch, encouragement, referral to IBCLC, etc.)

• If you'd like to add overnight postpartum support for an additional $20/hr, please read and sign the Overnight Postpartum Contract.

  • Please note that the hourly rate noted in this contract supersedes the hourly rate noted in the Overnight Postpartum Contract.

  • Once the terms of this Postpartum Contract are complete, or if they are terminated, the terms of the Overnight Postpartum Contract supersede the terms of this contract.​

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Honest communication about any relevant medical or emotional health conditions.

You must notify me within 24 hours after the birth of your baby.

SCHEDULING​

I require 48 hour notice before services begin, unless otherwise agreed upon.

​

Services are to be provided for up to 2 hours for the prenatal visit, for a total of 1 visit, and 3 hours for each postpartum visit, for a total of 6 visits.

​

Postpartum services are to begin within 14 days of the birth of your baby and must be completed by 12 weeks after the birth of your baby.

FEES & BILLING

The total cost of services is $1,500.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total payment -- $750 -- is due upon the signing of this contract. This deposit will be applied to the total cost of care. The remainder of services must be paid for, in full, by four weeks before the estimated due date.

There is the option to continue postpartum services at the conclusion of this contract at an hourly rate of $45/hr.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

In the event the Client no longer desires Doula services, no refund will be given for termination of this contract.

​

For scheduling visits, I require 24 hours notice for cancellations/rescheduling. In the event that less than 24 hours notice is given, a $50 fee will apply.

In the event of illness or injury on the part of the doula, severe weather, attending a birth, or any other circumstance that may prevent the doula from attending a scheduled session services will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
